The things people ask us most often, answered honestly. If your question is not here, just email and ask. We do not bite and we do not do sales calls.

Will I lose my Google ranking?
No. This is the thing people worry about most, and it is the thing we are most careful about. We map every existing page to its new home and redirect the old addresses, so links, bookmarks and search results keep working. Because the new site is faster, mobile friendly and properly structured, rankings typically improve rather than suffer.
Do I have to rewrite all my content?
Not at all. Send us whatever you have, even if that is just the old website. We tidy, restructure and rewrite it so it reads properly on the web, and you approve every word before anything goes live.
What if my photos are terrible?
Very common, and entirely fixable. We work with what you have got, source high quality imagery where there are gaps, and design around the thin bits so nothing looks empty. Often a handful of decent phone photos taken on a bright day is all we need.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks is typical for a small brochure site, from first conversation to going live. The pace is usually set by how quickly you can get us your content and feedback, rather than by the build itself.
How much of my time will it take?
Roughly an hour in total, spread across the project. One conversation at the start, one look at the design concept, and one round of feedback near the end. We do the rest and bring you something to react to rather than a blank page to fill in.
Do you build online shops?
We deliberately do not. We focus on small information sites: a handful of pages covering who you are, what you do, why you can be trusted and how to reach you. That is what most businesses actually need, and doing one thing means doing it properly.
Do you host the website for me?
No, and that is deliberate. We design and build the site, then hand over the finished files. If you already have hosting you are happy with, we will hand everything over ready to drop straight in. If you are starting from scratch, we will help you get set up on a service such as Netlify or Cloudflare Pages, both of which handle small sites like these extremely well. The account is in your name from day one.
Why not just host it yourselves?
Because it keeps you free. When the person who built your site also holds the hosting, the domain and the logins, you are stuck with them whether the relationship is working or not. That is exactly how so many businesses end up with a site nobody has touched in ten years. We would rather you stayed because you want to.
Can I update the site myself afterwards?
Yes. You own the site and the domain outright. We hand over a simple way to change text, images and opening hours, along with a short walkthrough. If you would rather we handled changes for you, we are happy to do that too.
What happens to my domain name?
It stays yours. If it is currently registered to somebody else, helping you get it transferred into your own name is one of the first things we will do. A domain you do not control is a business risk, not a technicality.
How long will the new design last?
The visual style of the web shifts noticeably every few years, but the fundamentals we build on do not: fast, mobile first, accessible and clearly structured. A renewal done properly should look current for a good five years and stay perfectly functional well beyond that.
What does it cost?
Every site is different, so we quote each one individually after the free review. One fixed price, agreed up front, with no hourly billing and no scope creep. Email us your web address and you will get a figure alongside the review.
What is the free review, exactly?
You send us your web address. We look at how the site behaves on a phone, how quickly it loads, whether it is secure, how easy it is to contact you, and how clearly it explains what you do. You get that back in writing, in plain English, whether or not you go on to hire us.
Do I have to get on a call?
Only if you want to. Plenty of projects run entirely over email. We are not going to put you through a discovery call, a proposal deck and a follow-up sequence for a five page website.
What if I do not like the design?
We show you a real homepage early, built with your own content, precisely so you can say so before much has been invested. Two rounds of changes are included as standard, and in practice most of the shaping happens at that first concept stage.
Still wondering? Just ask.
One email with your web address is enough to get an honest review of what is letting your site down, what we would do about it, and a fixed price.
